If you're thinking about starting a new business or simply looking for a way to expand your existing one, it can be tempting to throw all your money at a Shopify website. After all, it's easy to get started and there are plenty of resources out there that will help guide you through the process. But before you jump into building your own e-commerce site from scratch, do yourself (and your wallet) a favour by learning about some of these pros and cons.
Shopify is an e-commerce platform that allows you to create and manage online stores. The platform is easy to use, even for beginners, which makes it a great option for people who want to sell their own products but don't have any experience with website design or coding.
What is Shopify
Shopify is a popular e-commerce platform that allows you to create and manage your own online store. Shopify stores can be set up in minutes, and they come preloaded with features like payment processing, shipping options, inventory management tools and more.
Shopify is also known for its excellent customer support team--they're quick to respond to questions via email or phone (24/7), which means you can rest assured knowing that someone will help out if something goes wrong with your website.
How to add products to your Shopify store
Manual: Add a new product by browsing through Shopify's product library, choosing the right one based on what you want it to look like in the end, and then clicking “Add Product” in the top right corner of your screen. This will bring up a form where you can fill out all kinds of details about this particular product--its name, description, price and more--and then save it by clicking “Save” in the bottom left corner of your screen (or pressing Ctrl + S).
Automatic: If there are already existing ecommerce stores with products that fit your needs to be like (and if those sites allow for third-party integration), then simply copy/paste their URLs into an autofill text box in the Google Chrome browser; wait 30 seconds while Google fetches all their data from those sites' servers; select one item from each category on those websites' pages; click “Add To Cart”
Sell your own products in Shopify.
Here are some of the most important things you need to know about selling your products:
Product Listing: This is a basic summary of your product, including its name, price, and image. You can also add additional information such as how many units are in stock or whether it's eligible for free shipping.
Product Page: The page where visitors go to purchase an item they've found on your site. This includes all the information from above plus more details like size charts and customer reviews if applicable (which we'll cover later).
Product Image(s): It's important that these are high-quality images because this is what shoppers will see first when viewing them on their computer screens before clicking through into any more detailed pages with more information about each piece--so make sure they look great!
